Kathryn Irby studied Sociology and Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for the Ochsner Medical Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana for more than 28 years, and recently retired.

Kathryn Irby is fond of reading, writing, traveling, exercising, bowling, having an occasional glass of wine, watching and collecting Classic movies, living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and enjoys spending time with her pet terrier and best friend, Emmy.
